However, far fewer people understand how to lead: how to
mobilize energy in people, teams, and other groups; how to inspire
and motivate through hope, vision, meaning, and purpose; how to
increase productivity while also releasing peoples talent,
creativity, and resilience; how to build a resonant culture that
calls for everyone's best.
Amongst, many differentiating factors of a leader I feel GRIT is
one of those factors which certainly make a leader stand out.
The question is about to develop grit to be a successful
leader.
According to Angela Duckworth in her book GRIT The Power of Passion
and Perseverance, shows anyone striving to succeed be it parents,
students, educators, athletes, or business people that the secret
to outstanding achievement is not talent but a unique blend of
passion and persistence she calls grit.
I am so much moved by these two equations that offer a simple proof
for why grit trumps talent: Talent effort = skill.
